General Volunteer Job Descriptions

These are a few of the volunteer opportunities you will have if you decide to participate in DC! S&T MESA Day. There will be food all day!

Early Setup and Registration [6:30am - 8am]
Much help is needed in the morning to greet students from the buses, escort them to various rooms on campus, help check in their projects, or help serve AM refreshments. We will also need people to act as "security" to encourage participants to not "get lost". Please be familiar with the campus.

Welcome and Workshops [8am -10am]
Greet the students as they walk into the Opening Ceremony. You will also help guide students from the opening ceremony location to their workshops and competitions. We will also need people to act as "security" to encourage participants to not "get lost". Please be familiar with the campus.

Workshops and Lunch Setup [10am - 12 pm]
Continue to guide students to their respective workshops and help with security. We will also need help preparing for the lunch activities and lunch.

Lunch Activities and Workshops [12 pm - 2pm]
Interact with students to share your insights on your college experiences. We will need help with setting up food and providing security to make sure people don't wander off. Afterwards, we will need help to guide students to their workshop sessions and competitions and with lunch clean-up.

Closing Activities [2pm - 4pm]
Volunteers to guide students to the closing ceremonies, help with prepping for the closing ceremonies, and help cleaning up.

Clean Up [4pm - 6pm]
Volunteers will be in cleanup mode. This means cleaning up workshop and competition rooms, throwing out trash from the campus lawn where food was served, moving supplies and other items, and miscellaneous.
